The Sounds of Heaven - Five More Examples of Gorgeous Christian Music

As a music lover, I am always on the lookout for beautiful music of the Church.  Below are a few more examples of the sounds of heaven I have found in my searches.  One day, I hope to hear this kind of music in church. Enjoy!

  1. I love when you share music...then I can just hop on to listen : )

    Was doing a little searching today but I couldn't find any music lists to add to my blog. I went on Playlist but seems to be no chant *sigh*. Need someone to start a Catholic/Orthodox music site!

    2. Thank you John...but I was looking for a site that allows me to create a playlist to put on my blog for visitors. I had Mixpod and it shut down.

  2. Jason,

    These two hymns are Melanesian. They are from the film The Thin Red Line. Beautiful.

    Jesus is watching over me;
    Wherever I may go he is right beside me;
    Jesus is watching over me;
    No matter what I do his love will never cease;
    My saviour and my keeper beside me;
    All the blessings he has provided me;
    He is there to comfort and guide me;
    And his love will never cease.

    Take my life and let it be
    Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
    Take my hands and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love.

    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for Thee;
    Take my voice and let me sing,
    Always, only for my King.

    Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee;
    Take my silver and my gold,
    Not a mite would I withhold.

    Take my moments and my days,
    Let them flow in endless praise;
    Take my intellect and use
    Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

    Take my will and make it Thine,
    It shall be no longer mine;
    Take my heart, it is Thine own,
    It shall be Thy royal throne.

    Take my love, my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure store;
    Take myself and I will be
    Ever, only, all for Thee.

  3. Jason, recently I have started to listen to more Eastern music, similar to the ones above...I find this type of music so beautiful, because there is an almost haunting yearning for God in the singers' voices that just resonates deeply within me. I'm hooked!

  4. I think this rendition of Agni Parthene is better, and since I'm used to it I found the one you posted a bit hurried and quite high-pitched. You'll understand what I mean! :) Enjoy!
